PLEASE ENSURE TO HAVE READ LAURA’S SCOPE OF PRACTICE
TO UNDERSTAND how she can help YOU.
Laura works with clients via the systems and protocols that Chris Kresser teaches in the ADAPT Training for Functional and Evolutionary Health. Functional Lab tests ordering are supported by a team of Medical Directors at Functional Diagnostic Nutrition.
Please read the following thoroughly to familiarize yourself with the process that Laura uses.
At the end there is a section describing fees.
All clients are required to schedule a New Client Interview to determine if the services that Laura offers are a good fit for the case.
Clients who are approved will have an opportunity to enroll in a Case Review Program.
New Client Interviews do not automatically grant enrollment on the Case Review Program. Laura may refer clients to other practitioners depending on the case.
THE CASE REVIEW
The Case Review enables Laura to more accurately estimate how long your protocol will last, what it will include and costs. The Case Review includes:
A study of your symptoms history, lifestyle habits, and relevant previous lab work (within six months) that are nutritional in nature.
A review of your current diet and nutritional supplements.
The Initial Case Review Consultation has the following goals:
To ensure Laura has complete information of factors affecting your health, double check for updates, and make sure your questions are answered.
For Laura to impart nutritional education and come to an agreement with you on priorities of nutritional labs to order.
To offer you considerations for a head start on your health program before your test results are in. You will receive a Preparation Protocol after this Initial Case Review Consultation.
60-90-minute ROF (Report of Findings) consultation to present your lab results, your protocol and any referrals.
The ROF consultation typically occurs between 60 and 90 days after the Initial Case Review Consultation, because some of the labs tests take up to 8 weeks to deliver results. The ROF Case Review meeting includes:
Updates since your last consultation.
Nutritional educational information on test results and correlations with underlying patterns that may contribute to your symptoms.
Educational information on aspects such as nutritional, supplementation and lifestyle.
Considerations for further testing (this is typically minimal)
About Lab Tests:
A cornerstone of our approach is “test, don’t guess” to identify underlying patterns contributing to symptoms. We order all lab tests for clients and also welcome the test results when clients wish to order the exact same tests via their health providers. Tests may include:
Nutritional blood chemistry panel, that provide a wide range of educational information on conditions including anemia; insulin resistance and hypoglycemia; liver issues; and thyroid and adrenal issues. It also provides a baseline of biomarkers that you and your doctor can use to track progress of your program over time.
Additional blood tests for specific conditions, such as high cholesterol, hypothyroidism, autoimmune disease and gluten sensitivity.
Advanced stool testing that provide educational information on small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), parasites, fungal overgrowth, bacterial infections, intestinal inflammation, dysbiosis and a deficiency of beneficial gut bacteria.
Urine organic acids testing that provide educational information for fungal overgrowth, problems metabolizing fat or carbohydrates, B-vitamin status, methylation issues, detoxification capacity, oxidative stress and neurotransmitter metabolism.
Urine and saliva hormone testing for educational information on adrenal and sex hormone status.
Note: Laura Leite only reviews lab tests authorized by the Medical Director Program at Functional Diagnostic Nutrition, and will disregard other specialized labs. Lab tests reviewed by All1health.org are not meant to diagnose, prevent or treat any health condition.
