Laura Leite, NBC-HWC, FDNP, Kresser Provider and Teacher, ADAPT-Certified Functional Health Coach, Founder: Ancestral Health Center of California.

Hi, I’m Laura Leite. I am a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) with over 15 years of experience working in person with clients in USA, India and Brasil, and online worldwide.

I was trained in the ADAPT system of functional and evolutionary health

and am a teacher and provider for the KRESSER INSTITUTe.

I hold certifications in Functional Diagnostic Nutrition, as well as Functional and Evolutionary Medicine by the Kresser Institute, and I am an ADAPT-Certified Functional Health Coach.

My health approach was in part informed by my own experience of recovering from autoimmune disease. I was a patient of  Chris Kresser, and with his expertise I overcame severe autoimmune symptoms that had been triggered by diagnosed genetic mutations. I was able to “turn off” autoimmune gene expressions, Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS), and heal mold illness uniquely through an ancestral model of nutrition, mindfulness (MBSR) and exercise.

I have a degree in Social Communication, I am a life long meditator, stress management trainer, a former triathlete, endurance runner, certified personal trainer, and I have had the honor of studying under Romana Kryzanowska, Joseph Pilates’ heir, who trained me as a Pilates Instructor in her studio in New York.

I participated in self-enquiry retreats my whole life, beginning as a child in Japan and Brazil. This largely shaped who I am today. I’ve had the rare opportunity early in life to be a resident in the Regenerative Agriculture and Self Development Retreat Center that my older siblings founded in Brazil, which has been a thriving international training center for over 30 years (image in home page).

I was also a meditation student, stress management and health coach in two meditation centers in US and India for 18 years, which I gratefully hold dear to my heart. The mediation teachings have furthered my ability to apply mind stilling techniques in daily life, and to serve as a health coach in multi-cultural environments.

I began studying evolutionary biology in 2009, and started acquiring credentials on the Functional Nutrition and Functional Health fields in 2012. I serve as one of the Kresser Institute teachers and content editor for the Functional Health track of the one-year training for Health Coaches.

I have a deep passion for data points provided by functional lab testing and wearables technology. These new tools have been providing quantifiable meaning to our self optimization towards our dreams.

Self-enquiry has been my life-long anchor. It inspires me to create powerful questions to help individuals grow their self-efficacy, feel human belonging, and the sense of community.

My formal coaching training helped me to increase my efficacy with Motivational Interviewing, Positive Psychology, the Transtheoretical Model and working mindfully with emotions.

My practice is based in California where my partner and I have our soul family including many dog friends.
